Summary of Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

Responsible and accountable to interpret blueprints, schematics, flow charts and manuals to insure compliance and safe maintenance and operation of semi-truck and trailer, regardless of the type, make or model. Conduct inspections and monitor activities in support of OSHA, DOT, OMC, FHWSA, ADA and Nebraska Labor and Employment laws and regulations. Assess needs and train individuals according to applicable Federal and State rules and regulations. Conduct training meetings at all levels of education and command. Read/interpret Federal, State and Local codes, regulations or laws to congregate and relay information in a timely and appropriate manner that conveys a favorable impression of the company. Record and maintain files for accident reports/investigation, DOT substance abuse programs, maintenance, training, insurance, operating authority, single state registration, U.S. and Canadian customs, risk management reports, budget and capital expenditures and all OSHA, EPA, DOT, FHWSA, OMC, ADA or any applicable correspondence. Ascertain needs of the company and suggest, request or otherwise approve changes that would be required to maintain business profitability and company morale.

Assist in dispatching and accounting activities when a need arises. Prepare quotes and invoices for customers. Maintain and approve all decisions necessary for daily operations. Maintain at all times the confidentiality of the company and employees. Other duties may be assigned within the scope of the person's knowledge and abilities. Keep up with maintenance of all equipment and spec out new equipment when updating the fleet. Any duty requested by the General Manager.

Authority

Authority to represent the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing TS16949 requirements (e.g. selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives, training, corrective & preventive actions, product design and development). Authority to review and approve for adequacy documents and data.

Accountability  

With good problem solving skills, the position maintains an effective flow of work in Division to ensure a timely delivery of customer products.

Relationships

Position frequently must communicate, elaborate, and supervise all areas within the scope of duties and responsibilities set forth.

Work Conditions

Flexible hours and able to work overtime. Must be able to travel and financially support such travel until reimbursement. Attend necessary continuing education courses as to stay abreast of changing regulations or changes in the trade industry.
